NATIONAL EDUCATION PICTORIAL SURVEY

From the Editor: The materials that we work with hold a huge amount of meaning, but they also ask many questions. Our theme for this issue of The Journal of Australian Ceramics is MATERIAL EDUCATION, and our contributors have contemplated earnestness and value, materials, people, communication, and much more. We dive into education through embodiment, place, and technique, consider legacy and responsibility, trace our materials back in time and location, and look into algorithm changes. This issue also includes our national education survey. The question of who has access to ceramic education, where, and how, lingers. Accessibility and what we want for the future are important questions of our time.

Featured in JAC 632: Tyza Hart, Sturt, woodfiring education, The Torch, ceramic practice online, Sarah Christie, Coomaditchie, TABLED exhibition review, Sue Peachey, Steph Wallace, The Material Provenance Project, Bismuth, David Walker interviewed, Yuro Cuchor, Nathan Nhan, Clay Gulgong, NATSIAA, Tracy McDowall, Bruce Nuske, Mish Meijers, Juyeon Kim, Juliet Tang, and tributes to Barry Singleton and Jane Burns AM.
