This glaze was almost called Frozen because of its songstress-ice-queen energy (never pass up a chance to reference a Disney musical). But then I stumbled across a blue lace agate in a shop selling gems and incense- because, Northern Rivers - and instantly saw this glaze mirrored in the rare stone: matte-smooth surface, depth, icy blue, soft bands of white. A ceramic glaze with mineral heritage.

So the 'Blue lace agate' is for communication, clarity, and having your voice heard. Throat chakras, inner strength, self-expression …Actually, there are some Elsa plot parallels.

Basically, this glaze helps your ceramics stay calm under emotional pressure - intuitive, honest, and serene. It’s quietly confident, cool-toned, but contemporary.

Blue Lace Agate is a microcrystalline glaze — as it cools, tiny crystals form across the surface, creating soft tonal shifts and that signature silky depth. These micro crystals become more pronounced when the kiln cools slowly through roughly 1050 °C to 850 °C, revealing the gentle, light blue lace-like patterning that gives this glaze its name.
